New Release Update: R346 Baltimore Cyber Range Requirements

Home » Press Releases » New Release Update: R346 Baltimore Cyber Range Requirements

December 6, 2021 by A2LA

December 6, 2021 – Frederick, MD – As we all continue to navigate travel challenges associated with the pandemic, the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) in conjunction with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Program Management Office (PMO) has decided to continue to offer a remote participation option for the Baltimore Cyber Range Technical Proficiency activity.

The R346 requirements document has been updated to reflect the three current options for participation with the Baltimore Cyber Range:

1. Onsite at the BCR facility in Baltimore, MD
2. Proctored remotely with a BCR proctor on-site and all team members present in the same location.
3. Remotely with team members in up to 5 separate locations collaborating through Zoom

Please note that the updated R311 Section 7.1.5 F.3 now requires annual re-participation in the Baltimore Cyber Range exercise by a representative team if the 3PAO has not completed a FedRAMP assessment within the last year. If your organization falls into this category, please email FedRAMP@A2LA.org to discuss the soonest participation availability.

For More Information

Questions about the updated requirements may be directed questions to A2LA Inspection Body Program Manager, Ashley Kamauf, at akamauf@A2LA.org and programmatic FedRAMP questions may be directed to the FedRAMP Program Manager, John Hamilton, at info@FedRAMP.gov.
