Under Kentucky Statute 401 KAR 42:250 Section 20. Laboratory Certification, the Office of the Petroleum Storage Tank Environmental Assurance Fund requires laboratories that contract with owners or operators of underground storage tanks (USTs) to hold active accreditation by A2LA or a state approved to accredit environmental laboratories, in accordance with NELAP requirements and standards.
All UST owners and operators in Kentucky are required to have certain types of analytical testing performed at an A2LA-accredited laboratory to be eligible for Fund reimbursement. View the regulations here: https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/kar/titles/401/042/250/
