Boulder, Co (September 18, 2026)— The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), a global, nonprofit accreditation body, presented its expanded service capabilities to stakeholders at its Boulder Office Open House on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 in honor of its grand opening one year ago.
The event included a formal presentation from Trace McInturff, A2LA Vice President of Accreditation Services, highlighting A2LA’s growth, strategic vision, and investment in supporting laboratories, inspection bodies, product certification bodies, proficiency testing providers, and more.
“It was a pleasure to welcome our stakeholders to the new Boulder office and showcase the talented team we have in place. Their expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment to service are what make this expansion so meaningful,” said McInturff. “The open house provided a valuable opportunity to connect in person as we strengthen existing relationships, build new ones, and become more accessible and responsive to our West Coast stakeholders.”
The event was attended by the mayor of Boulder, CO, Aaron Brocket, the A2LA leadership team, the organization’s board of directors, staff members, and more. It was also visited by the VW Mobile Visitor Bus, Delilah, from Visit Boulder, featuring an onboard photo booth. This gathering served as an opportunity to strengthen A2LA’s growing connections in the Boulder business community and the accreditation industry at large.
“I very much enjoyed attending the one-year anniversary event for A2LA’s office in Boulder. It’s great to see them grow their business in Boulder as they share their expertise in laboratory accreditation with organizations across the country,” said Mayor Brocket.
A2LA, headquartered in Frederick, MD, opened its second location in Boulder in 2025 to strengthen its support for West Coast customers. Currently, the Boulder office serves as a hub for accreditation operations, technical staff, and customer engagement.
The strategic expansion marked a significant step forward in the organization’s mission to create a safer, healthier world. Accreditation serves as a foundation for confidence in testing, inspection, certification, healthcare, manufacturing, environmental monitoring, food safety, forensic science, and other critical sectors. It plays a critical role in protecting public trust, supporting innovation, and enabling confidence in products, services, and scientific results around the world.
