A2LA is proud to announce that Tim Osborne has been appointed to the newly-created position of Senior Director of Training Services. Osborne currently also serves as NCSLI’s VP of Operations and contributes technical expertise to Working Group 44, ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
Osborne plans to provide those attending A2LA public and private courses with an enhanced learning experience that increases their knowledge retention, which yields improved productivity and business efficiencies. In addition to classroom training, he intends to expand and enhance the eLearning platform and other service offerings to support the planned curriculum expansion.

A2LA demonstrates its commitment to enhancing the customer experience by offering an IACET-accredited training program of which I am an enthusiastic supporter,” said Osborne.
Osborne comes to A2LA with extensive training and development experience across various disciplines in the measurement community. He most recently served as the Director of Quality of Trescal, Inc., a global calibration services provider. During his tenure, he led the customer training programs, managed courses on management systems, system processes, and measurement and data analysis tools. Osborne has served as A2LA’s Criteria Council Chair and Measurement Advisory Committee Chair as well as NCSLI’s VP of Standards and Practices and Chair of the 174 Standards Committee. He participated in and led the development of the ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 Handbook and several Recommended Practices. Osborne has also volunteered at NCSLI in various training and development capacities.
Osborne holds a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering with a minor in Materials Engineering and Chemistry. He served for six years in the US Navy’s nuclear power program on submarines, overseeing the quality program and training departments on quality processes and engineering systems.
