Since the previous issue of A2LA Today, the following individuals have achieved the status of “Staff Approved Lead Assessor” and have begun performing assessments for A2LA:
Glenn Knight – August 16, 2016 – Mr. Knight resides in Saint Michael, MN and received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Quality Control from Warren National University. He is currently employed at Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology as a Quality Systems Manager and his experience within Zeiss ranges from repair and calibration of manual and CNC CMMs (Trigger, Scanning, and Optical), training, support, and implementation of their ISO/IEC 17025 calibration management system.
Mr. Knight previously served five years in the United States Marine Corps as a Precision Measuring Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) Specialist, performing calibration and repair of military, avionic, and general test equipment.
Mr. Knight will be assigned to assessments in the calibration field.
Stacie Hammack – October 11, 2016 – Ms. Hammack resides in Tallahassee, FL and received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Florida State University. She has thirty years of experience in analytical laboratories involved in the field of food testing with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. For the past five years, Ms. Hammack has been the Quality Manager of the State’s Food Laboratories, which specialize in testing foods and beverages in the fields of chemistry, microbiology and molecular biology. The Food Laboratories of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services have been accredited by A2LA to ISO/IEC 17025 and the AOAC International Guidelines for Laboratories Performing Microbiological and Chemical Analyses of Food and Pharmaceuticals since 2007.
Ms. Hammack will be assigned to assessments in the biological and chemical (food) fields of testing.
Marianne Farallo – October 11, 2016 – Ms. Farallo resides in Lakeview, NY and is a certified Quality and Regulatory Affairs Professional with extensive experience fostering compliance, evaluating and maintaining quality systems, training and clinical laboratory practices. She is an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor and an AABB Auditor/ISO Lead Auditor and has proven expertise in Equipment and Software Validation, as a Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist (NYS), as a Medical Technologist, and in Process Control/Quality Control (CA/PA0, Product Vigilance/Material Review Board, Record Review/Approval, 6 Sigma Champion, Lean Manufacturing, Procedure Development, Biologics, Medical Devices and IVDs, cGMP, GLP).
Ms. Farallo will be assigned to assessments in the clinical field of testing.
Mike Gentry – October 11, 2016 – Mr. Gentry resides in Greely, CO and received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Colorado State University and his Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. He is currently certified through the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
Mr. Gentry is a USAF veteran with experience in the areas of DC/Electrical Standards, Frequency, Temperature/Humidity, Physical/Dimensional Test Equipment, Radioactive Detection Indication and Computation (RADIAC) Equipment, and some Automated Test Equipment. He also served as the Quality Director for a medical device testing laboratory, where he filled several key managerial roles and integrated 21 CFR part 58 (FDA GLP) and ISO/IEC 17025.
Mr. Gentry will be assigned to assessments in the calibration field.
Jennifer Fleenor – November 8, 2016 – Ms. Fleenor resides in Canby, OR and has a Master of Business Administration in International Business from Western International University, Phoenix, AZ and holds American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications as a Quality Auditor and Quality Engineer. She is an active NCSLI member as a section co-coordinator for the Washington/Oregon area and a new committee chair for the development of Young Industry Professionals.
Ms. Fleenor has over thirty years of metrology industry experience that includes U.S. military, Foreign Military Sales, DOD contractor (Raytheon), and commercial calibration and has extensive experience in dimensional, electrical, mechanical, thermodynamics and time/frequency. She is currently the Tektronix Quality Engineer, responsible for the global inter-laboratory comparison program.
She also served as the manager of the OAA Laboratory Accreditation Area for 8 years and developed the Proficiency Testing Provider Accreditation Program (ISO/IEC 17043). She was the first manager in charge of the OAA GLP National Monitoring Program, developed by her in early 2008, and served as a GLP Lead Inspector.
Ms. Fleenor will be assigned to assessments in the calibration field.
