Field Evaluation Body Accreditation Program

The A2LA Field Evaluation Body Accreditation Program is for organizations that evaluate one-of-a-kind, limited production, used or modified electrical equipment (that is not listed or field-labeled under a certification program) to ensure that it complies with applicable codes or standards.

This specialty program is covered under the A2LA Inspection Body Accreditation Program.

Third-party Field Evaluation Bodies (FEBs) are accredited to NFPA 790 - Standard for Competency of Third-Party Field Evaluation Bodies and NFPA 791 - Recommended Practice and Procedures for Unlabeled Electrical Equipment Evaluation. In addition, A2LA also offers acccreditation to ISO/IEC 17020:2012 - Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection and ILAC P15-Application of ISO/IEC 17020 for the Accreditation of Inspection Bodies, in conjunction with NFPA 790 and 791.
