Since the previous issue of A2LA Today, the following individuals have achieved the status of “Staff Approved Lead Assessor” and have begun performing assessments for A2LA:

Calista Daigle – April 18, 2017 – Ms. Daigle resides in Brusly, LA and has over twenty (20) years of experience in environmental laboratory analysis and sampling, including QA plan development and implementation, standard operating procedure development, training, assessing, and data validation. She has a B.S. in Biology from Southeastern Louisiana University and post graduate work in Soil Chemistry at LSU.  She has been a lead assessor for the LELAP program since 2007. Her experience encompasses analytical chemistry, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), and analytical laboratory auditing for a wide variety of technical and environmental issues. She has analytical experience in atomic absorption spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy, classical and automated wet chemical methods, ion chromatography, and organic methods involving gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, and liquid chromatography. She has qualified as an expert witness for the Louisiana State Police Crime Laboratory, she has written hundreds of reports that have been accepted in lieu of her presence for court room trials and has been accepted as an expert witness in multiple court room appearances related to her testimony concerning her analysis of evidence.  

Ms. Daigle is currently the Technical and Program Director for Dade Moeller’s support to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA), Deep Water Horizon Incident Response. She actively provides technical training, procedural direction, document coordination and quality improvement related to the sample collection process.  

Ms. Daigle is an active member of the NEFAP executive committee charged with developing the program for accrediting field sampling and measurement organizations.  In this capacity, she played an integral role in producing the FSMO standards via TNI.  She is well versed in sampling procedures and associated field activities and has served as lead assessor for field sampling audits.  Ms. Daigle also sits on the Policy committee for TNI writing, reviewing and approving policies that define TNI.  

Ms. Daigle will be assigned to ISO/IEC 17025 assessments in the chemical and environmental fields of testing.

Guy Robinson – April 25, 2017 – Mr. Robinson resides in Portland, OR, and has over 35 years of electronics, semiconductor and metrology experience that includes a 15-year career in US Air Force ground RADAR and computer maintenance. He has been an Operations Manager at Intel Corporation and a Quality Engineer at Tektronix Corporation. Guy is now a Tektronix Calibration Lab Manager responsible for Labs in Northern California and Oregon. During his time as a Quality Engineer, he was directly responsible for the initial accreditation, renewal and all quality aspects of up to 35 Accredited Laboratories world-wide, including two testing laboratories.  

Guy has extensive expertise in RF/Microwave and general purpose electronics, and is an expert at Ultra High Vacuum Plasma Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). He has experience in dimensional, mechanical, torque, pressure, high voltage and thermodynamics. Guy is a Certified Quality Auditor by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and is specifically skilled in ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025.  He has two published papers on the auditing process through the National Society of Standards Laboratories International (NCSLi).   

Mr. Robinson will be assigned to ISO/IEC 17025 assessments in the calibration field.
